Acting with Green Screen Workshop Teaching Artist

Summer Camp Teaching Artists will work closely with the Community Programs Artistic Director and Education team to bring premiere programming to Chicago Children’s Theatre summer camps. CCT camps are highly collaborative and hands-on, and are meant to encourage and empower through creative expression and play. During the week of July 4, we are offering two workshop experience for students ages 8-13.

Duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Collaborate with Community Programs Artistic Director and co-teaching artists as a member of an artistic team to create and execute workshop programming
  • Plan, create, and a write curriculum for two-day workshop
  • Develop materials list and budget as needed for workshop activities
  • Implement workshop curriculum by leading activities, instruction, guided demonstrations, games, rehearsals, etc with campers ages 8-13
  • Provide artistic support to fellow teaching artists in the classroom as needed
  • Provide support and encouragement to children of all backgrounds and abilities
  • Provide content for a workshop newsletter
  • Meet as needed with Community Programs Artistic Director and co-teaching artists as needed to address workshop and student needs

Time Commitment: 

  • Thursday, July 5 & Friday, July 6
  • 8:30am-4:00pm daily
  • Pay rate is based on experience and ranges from $18-$25/hr
Requirements
Skills & Qualifications: 
  • Established and proven skill in acting/modeling in print and commercial advertising
  • Working knowledge of green screen technology and production processes
  • Confidence in ability to work with children ages 8-13, past experience in camp/classroom setting is highly preferred
  • Skill in classroom management and techniques
  • Ability to work both independently and as a collaborative member of an artistic team
  • Flexibility to adjust curriculum/product based on camp/camper needs and as directed by Community Programs Artistic Director
  • A sincere interest in children’s arts programming
  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
