Artistic Administration Internships | Goodman Theatre

Goodman Theatre's internship program offers a rich and challenging experience for qualified college students, graduates and young professionals who are actively pursuing careers in professional theater. Summer Internships run from May 31 to August 23, 2019.

Artistic Administration Internships are offered in following departments: casting, development (fundraising), education and community engagement, literary management and dramaturgy, and marketing/pr/publicity.

Goodman interns are entrusted with a great deal of responsibility and have the opportunity to work closely with Goodman staff and artists in Chicago's large and diverse theater community.

The deadline to apply for the Goodman's Artistic Administration Internships for the Summer Session is March 15, 2019. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Requirements
Skills & Qualifications: 

All Goodman internships share the same basic expectations. At a minimum, applicants must:

  • Possess the knowledge and skills required to work successfully in a specific department of the theater.
  • Be socially mature and self-confident.
  • Be able to take direction and criticism well.
  • Be able to digest new information quickly and apply it productively.
  • Be consistent and dependable in their work habits.
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Enjoy multi-tasking and creative problem-solving.
  • Work comfortably and effectively in a highly collaborative environment.

A basic knowledge of computing is essential; the Goodman uses a wide assortment of computer equipment and software.
