Receptionist & Social Media Manager | Ballroom Dance Chicago

Ballroom Dance Chicago, Chicago’s top-rated Ballroom, wedding, and social dance studio is seeking a receptionist and social media manager to answer phone and email communication, create and manage social media campaigns, and greet incoming students during our business hours. During the day, the Receptionist will be responsible for handling all phone and email communication to potential and current students, along with managing other office tasks. During the busy evening hours, the Receptionist will be responsible for overseeing smooth transitions between classes, interacting with incoming and outgoing students, assisting in any scheduling or payment processes, and maintaining the tidiness of the studio. During lessons, the Receptionist would spend their down time crafting social media campaigns, newsletters, and maintaining the online voice of the studio.

As this position encompasses a variety of responsibilities, the ideal candidate will have experience in both customer service and social media engagement, along with being a friendly, outgoing, and self-sufficient individual. The position is part-time to begin, with the potential to grow into a larger position for the right candidate. After a successful 3 month period at the studio, there’s the possibility for this role to shift into a more dance-focused opportunity, with partner dance training being provided.

Pay is commensurate upon experience.

Our business hours are Tuesday - Friday from 1-10pm and Saturdays 11am - 5pm. Work hours for the receptionist would ideally be a few weekdays from 1-8pm, but hours are negotiable for the right candidate.

Ballroom Dance Chicago is comprised of a team of bright, inspired individuals interested in sharing the joy of dancing and the power of connection through partner dance.  We are known for our high level of customer service, teaching excellence, and welcoming attitude to dancers of all levels. At every phase of interaction, we aim to go above and beyond, making sure that each person we come into contact with has an excellent experience. The receptionist will oftentimes be the first interaction potential students have with Ballroom Dance Chicago; therefore, the receptionist should have a deep understanding and ease with discussing our philosophy towards dancing, teaching, and our role as a dance studio.
